Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk

Ever since their Vivienne Westwood exhibit in 2007, I've been faithful to attending the fashion designer exhibits at the deYoung Museum here at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco because they are truly stunning. No picture or video does them justice. And I most admit I'm a little addicted to the thrill I get by looking at their exhibition design spectacles that bring concepts and sketches (master pieces on their own) come alive to final choice of textiles, textures, accents, etc. Such a treat! Last year was Balenciaga and Spain, and this year is all about the French "enfant terrible;" The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk, at the Herbst Special Exhibition Galleries from March 24 to August 19, 2012. The exhibition design is superb, including animated mannequins who talk!
