Unexpectedly I got invited to the Pixies reunion, a tribute to their album Doolittle, and it was also a chance to go to the recently renovated Fox Theater in Oakland. It was an energetic fun show, as expected. My best friend, ex boyfriend and I use to listen to this album so much when it came out. Funny teenage memories. Not many people know this, but Frank Black studied astronomy in Puerto Rico, so a lot of his songs reference the beach in the Caribbean - little factoid. And I use to listen to this album at the beach in the Caribbean where I grew up.
